1. Getting started
How does a translated conversation work?
One person starts a session in the app and shares the session QR code. Everyone else scans it to join from their own phone. Each participant picks the language they speak, and from then on everyone hears and reads the conversation in their own language.
Do I need an account?
You can sign in with Apple or with the other sign-in options offered on the sign-in screen. An account lets your available translation time and subscription follow you across devices.
Which languages are supported?
The full list is in the language picker inside the app. We add languages over time, so the picker is always the most up-to-date source.
Does it work offline?
A network connection is required for live translated conversations. If a session stops responding, check your connection first — see Troubleshooting.
2. Free translation time & ads
How much can I use for free?
New users start with 1 hour of free translation time. Time is only consumed while a translation session is actively running.
How do I get more free time?
You can watch a short rewarded ad to earn +1 hour of translation time. You can do this repeatedly, and unused time accumulates up to a maximum of 50 hours.
My time ran out mid-conversation.
The app will offer you the option to watch an ad for more time, or to upgrade to Pro for unlimited translation. Your session stays open while you decide.
3. Pro subscription, billing & cancellation
What does Pro include?
Pro removes the free-time limit and the ads. Pricing and the exact renewal terms are shown on the subscription screen in the app before you purchase.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple and renew automatically until cancelled. To cancel, either:
- Open the app and tap Manage Subscription on the subscription screen, or
- On your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions and select Flow Chat.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. You keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
I paid but Pro isn't active.
Open the subscription screen in the app and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. If it still doesn't activate, email us and we'll sort it out.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple rather than by us. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our side, contact us and we'll help you with the request.
4. Your account & data
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings, open the account section, and tap Delete Account. This permanently deletes your profile and associated session data. Full instructions, and a breakdown of what is deleted and what we keep, are on the Delete your account page.
What happens to my conversations?
What we collect, how long we keep it, and how to request its deletion are described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Reporting abuse & objectionable content
Flow Chat has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Every account agrees to this before signing in, and it is set out in section 3 of our Terms of Service.
How do I report a message?
In any group conversation, tap the … button beside a message from another participant (or press and hold the message), then choose Report Message and pick a reason. You can also open the participant list and report someone from there.
How do I block someone?
Use the same menu and choose Block. Blocking removes that person's messages from your conversation immediately and hides them from the participant list, and it files a report with us at the same time. Blocked accounts are listed under Settings → Safety → Blocked Users, where you can undo a block at any time.
Reporting outside the app
If you cannot reach the in-app controls, email team@software4you.dev with the session code, the approximate time, and what was said. Reports sent by email are handled on the same 24-hour basis.
What about one-phone conversations?
Duo mode puts two people around a single device. Nothing is transmitted to other users and no content is published, so there is nothing to report — simply end the conversation.
6. Troubleshooting
The app isn't hearing me
- Check that microphone and speech recognition permissions are enabled: iPhone Settings → Flow Chat.
- Make sure no other app is holding the microphone (an active call, a voice memo, another recorder).
- If you're on Bluetooth headphones, try switching to the built-in microphone.
Someone can't join my session
- The joining phone needs camera permission to scan the QR code.
- Sessions expire after a period of inactivity — start a fresh session and share the new code.
- Confirm both devices have a working internet connection.
Translations are slow or cutting out
- Weak or unstable Wi-Fi is the most common cause; try cellular data, or move closer to the router.
- Very noisy environments make speech harder to detect — speak closer to the phone.
- Pausing briefly between sentences helps the app segment speech correctly.
Still stuck?
Email team@software4you.dev with a short description of what happened and roughly when it happened. Screenshots help a lot.
